How to personal brand yourself through your business cards

I decided that I needed new business cards for my personal use. Sure I have business cards through work but I felt I needed something better when I meet new friends, identified new business opportunities or when I needed people to email me on my personal email, and not the email to the company I work for. After all we don’t work at the same place forever.

I looked around all over internet and I found the most amazing company making business cards, Moo.com. I love their webpage and that everything is very professional. They have ready to go designs and several options to make your business cards just they way you like it. I decided to order the “You can quote me 3” design where I got 50 business cards for £20 including shipping. The cards arrived two weeks later and I was really amazed how good the are. I have used a lot business cards but these are the best ever. Why? Let me give you a list:

  1. They came in a really practical box that you can see on the picture below.
  2. The quality of the cards are like a deck of playing cards. They are coated and it gives a quality feeling to the cards. Normally business cards are made of paper and they may look a bit sloppy after a while. These cards look clean and fresh all the time. Even when they have been in my wallet.
  3. You can have as many different cards as you like. If you look on the pictures below you will notice that the back of the cards are different. This is a great marketing opportunity. I have different quotes but you can have different pictures, graphics, stories, etc. and use it to market yourself or your company better.
  4. It was really fast and easy to order. It only took me 10 minutes to do everything.

If you are considering to upgrade your business cards I really think you should check out Moo.com where you will get a lot of inspiration and you can either use their design or you can create your own. To brand yourself better make sure that your passion s visualised through your business cards.

Daniel – thanks for sharing this. It’s a shame that Gartner have rather corporate/lame business cards ;-). If I had it my way, I would do exactly what you’ve done. In fact, I might just create my own personal Mohy Shams branded business cards! Great article – short & to the point.

Mohy – I think a lot of businesses have lame business cards. They usually choose a paper that is medium quality and then a boring print. The business card is a really good opportunity to market yourself or your company and this opportunity is generally missed. One thing I do with the above business cards is that I let the person I give a card choose which quote he/she likes best. It is different and a little bit of fun.

I think you should get your own cool business cards. You have a great personality and working on your personal brand can help you to be even more successful.

Thank you for liking the article ;-). I really appreciate it.
